Best players gather

Pro golfers want to win one of the year’s four majors.
Also high on their list – this week’s Players Championship.
NBC has coverage Saturday and Sunday starting at 2 p.m. The famous island green at the 17th hole may determine who takes the tournament title home.
The Orioles and Nationals close their interleague set Thursday at 7 p.m. on MASN and MASN2. The Nationals stay at home to host the Phillies on MASN for the weekend, while the Orioles travel to Kansas City on MASN2.
FoxSports1 shows Cubs-Cardinals Saturday at 4 p.m., and ESPN closes the weekend with the Astros visiting the Yankees Sunday night.
The NBA playoffs continue with Game 6 from Houston Thursday at 8 p.m. on ESPN. There’s Game 6 of the Wizards-Celtics series Friday at 8 p.m. on ESPN. There may be a Western series Game 1 on Sunday, or the deciding contest between the Spurs and Rockets.
The NHL conference finals begin Friday on NBC Sports network as the Predators take on the Ducks at 9 p.m.  The Eastern battle between the Penguins and Senators starts Saturday at 8 p.m. on NBC, with Game 2 between the Predators and Ducks Sunday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC Sports network.
NASCAR visits Kansas for the weekend, with the Monster Series on FoxSports1 Saturday at 7:30 p.m. after the Truck Series goes Friday at 8:30 p.m.
NBC Sports network has the Spanish Grand Prix Sunday at 7:30 a.m. There’s practice Friday at 8 a.m.
It’s the second leg of the Europa League semifinals Thursday at 3 p.m., with Manchester United meeting Celta Vigo on FoxSports1.
West Bromwich Albion faces Chelsea on NBC Sports network Friday at 2:55 p.m. Manchester City meets Leicester City Saturday at 7:25 a.m., followed by Sunderland-Swansea City and Stoke City’s contest with Arsenal.
Seattle clashes with Chicago in MLS play Saturday at 9 p.m. on ESPN2 and Portland battles Atlanta United Sunday at 1 p.m. on ESPN.
FoxSports1 offers a pair of contest Sunday, with the Red Bulls hosting the Galaxy at 6 p.m. before New York City takes on Dallas.
On the college diamond, Alabama takes on LSU Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
Comcast has the quarterfinals of the ACC softball tournament, starting at 11 a.m. Thursday when Virginia faces Florida State. It’s Notre Dame-Boston College at 1:30 p.m., followed by N.C. State’s contest with Louisville at 5 p.m. and Syracuse against North Carolina at 7:30 p.m.
The semifinals are Friday at 1 and 3:30 p.m.
ESPN offers three championships Saturday, with the American Conference at noon, ACC at 2 p.m. and SEC at 8 p.m.
There’s Atlantic 10 softball Saturday at 1 and 3:30 p.m. on Comcast.
NBC Sports network brings the college beach volleyball championship Saturday at 6 p.m.
The Tour of California cycling race starts Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on NBC Sports network.
The Sparks tangle with the Storm in WNBA play Saturday at 5 p.m. on ESPN.
