Kicking toward the final

In Major League Soccer, the conference semifinal series are home-and-home matchups. The better regular season record gets you home for the important second leg – coming this weekend.
Portland and Seattle get the second legs going Thursday at 10:30 p.m. Portland took the first match 2-1 heading into the contest at Seattle.
Sporting KC hosts Real Salt Lake Sunday at 3 p.m. on ESPN after a 1-1 tie last week. Atlanta United faces New York FC at 5:30 p.m., and Columbus tries to continue its upset run against the Red Bulls at 7:30 p.m. on FoxSports1.
The Steelers tangle with the Panthers on Fox Thursday at 8:20 p.m.
Fox has the Redskins’ contest with the Buccaneers Sunday at 1 p.m. The Patriots take on the Titans on CBS at 1 p.m., followed by Seahawks-Rams.
It’s Cowboys-Eagles Sunday on NBC, with the Giants visiting San Francisco on ESPN Sunday at 8:15 p.m.
North of the border, it’s CFL playoff time between Saskatchewan and Winnipeg Sunday at 4:30 p.m. on ESPN2.
The college football weekend begins Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Wake Forest taking on North Carolina State.
Louisville takes on North Carolina State Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN2, followed by Fresno State-Boise State.
CBS has an SEC doubleheader Saturday, with Mississippi taking on Texas A&M at noon before top-ranked Alabama meets Mississippi State.
Fourth-ranked Notre Dame faces Florida State on NBC at 7:30 p.m.
It’s Penn State-Wisconsin on ABC at noon, then it’s bedlam with Oklahoma against Oklahoma State.  In primetime, Boston College hosts Clemson.
Ohio State tangles with Michigan State on Fox at noon before Iowa hosts Northwestern. Texas takes on Texas Tech at 7:30 p.m.
ESPN starts its day at noon with South Carolina facing Florida. Colorado clashes with Washington State at 3:30 p.m. and Georgia battles Auburn at 7 p.m. In the nightcap, California takes on Southern Cal.
Central Florida clashes with Navy at noon on ESPN2 and Minnesota meets Purdue at 3:30 p.m. The ACC Coastal matchup between Miami and Georgia Tech will be at 7 p.m., then UNLV goes to San Diego State at 10:30 p.m.
West Virginia tangles with TCU on FoxSports1 at noon and Baylor battles Iowa State at 3:30 p.m.
The ACC network features Duke and North Carolina at 12:20 p.m.
Kansas State clashes with Kansas at noon on MASN2, and MASN offers Rhode Island-James Madison at 2 p.m.
The Monster Series championship four will be decided Sunday in Phoenix, with the flag dropping on NBC at 2:30 p.m. The Xfinity Series goes Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on NBC, with the Truck Series on FoxSports1 Friday at 8:30 p.m.
ESPN2 has the Formula One Brazilian Grand Prix Sunday at 12:05 p.m.
The Rockets take on the Thunder on TNT Thursday at 8 p.m., with the Bucks facing the Warriors at 10:30 p.m.
The Celtics meet the Jazz Friday at 9:30 p.m. on ESPN.
NBC Sports Washington-plus has the Bullets against the Magic Friday at 7 p.m.
The first week of the college basketball season continues Friday with Arkansas-Texas on ESPN at 7 p.m.
Hampton plays VCU at 7 p.m. on MASN and Mississippi Valley State taking on Texas Tech at 9 p.m. on MASN2.
It’s Evansville-Xavier Saturday at 4 p.m. on MASN2 and Miami of Ohio battles Butler at 7 p.m. Oral Roberts takes on TCU Sunday at 5 p.m. on MASN2.
ESPN has Army-Duke Sunday at 1 p.m. and FoxSports1 offers East Tennessee State against Creighton Sunday at 1:30 p.m.
The Capitals host Columbus Friday at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.
Cardiff City clashes with Brighton & Hove Albion Saturday at 7:25 a.m. on NBC Sports network, followed by Leicester City’s battle with Burnley. NBC features Tottenham Hotspur’s contest with Crystal Palace.
Liverpool faces Fulham Sunday at 6:55 a.m., then it’s Chelsea-Everton and Manchester City meeting Manchester United at 11:25 a.m.
ESPN2 has the United Soccer League contest between Louisville and Phoenix Thursday at 8 p.m.
Werder Bremen battles M’gladbach in the Bundesliga Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on  FoxSports1, and It’s Leipzig-Leverkusen Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
In Italian Serie A, Atalanta faces Interazionale on ESPN2 Sunday at 6:25 a.m.
