Darlington offers plenty of memories for NASCAR fans. The cars on track this weekend offer a chance to see those memories in action.
It’s a throwback weekend at the 70th Southern 500, with the flag dropping on NBC Sports network Sunday at 6 p.m.
Upon returning the Southern 500 to its traditional Labor Day slot in 2015, teams have honored the past with their paint schemes.
The Xfinity Series hits the track Saturday at 4 p.m. on NBC. NBC Sports network has practice sessions Friday starting at 1 p.m., with qualifying for the Southern 500 Saturday at 2 p.m.
The college football season gets going Thursday when Clemson hosts Georgia Tech on the new ACC network.
UCLA visits Cincinnati on ESPN Thursday at 7 p.m. with BYU-Utah at 10:15 p.m.
Minnesota meets South Dakota State on FoxSports1 at 9 p.m.
MASN offers Jacksonsville-Richmond Thursday at 7 p.m.
South Florida hosts Wisconsin Friday at 7 p.m. on ESPN, followed by Colorado against Colorado State.
FoxSports1 brings Tulsa-Michigan State Friday at 7 p.m. and Oklahoma State battles Oregon State at 10:30 p.m.
ACC network carries Wake Forest’s contest with Utah State at 8 p.m.
Saturday on the ACC network starts at noon with East Carolina against North Carolina State. Virginia Tech tangles with Boston College at 4 p.m. and Virginia meets Pittsburgh at 7:30 p.m.
Memphis takes on Mississippi at noon on ABC, followed by Duke-Alabama at 3:30 p.m. Oregon clashes with Auburn at 7:30 p.m.
Fox offers Ohio State-Florida Atlantic at noon before Northwestern takes on Stanford at 4 p.m.
Iowa State hosts Northern Iowa on FoxSports1 at noon. Iowa meets Miami of Ohio at 7:30 p.m.

The Redskins take on the Falcons on NBC Sports Washington Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
North of the border, Winnipeg travels to Edmonton Friday at 9 p.m. on ESPN2.
There’s high school football this weekend, as Mallard Creek meets Dutch Fork Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN2.
The gridiron action continues Saturday on ESPN when St. Frances meets Miami Central at noon. Dematha battles St. John Bosco on ESPN2 at 9 p.m., and Southern Columbia goes against Hammond School of South Carolina Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN2.
The Orioles face the Rays on MASN2 for a four-game set.
The Nationals meet the Pirates Thursday at 7 p.m. on MASN and visit the Cubs for the weekend. Sunday’s contest will also be on TBS.
The Yankees take on the Dodgers Saturday at 4 p.m. on FoxSports1 and Sunday at 7 p.m. on ESPN. The Cardinals host the Rockies on FoxSports1 at 7:15 p.m.
Little League baseball crowns its champion Sunday at 3:30 p.m. on ABC. The third place contest will be on ESPN Sunday at 10 a.m.
ABC has the United States championship game Saturday at 3:30 p.m, after the International finale at 12:30 p.m. Hawai’i claimed a spot in the U.S. game on Wednesday and Japan has a berth in the International contest.

Little League Classic

Sixteen teams from around the world gather in Williamsport, Pennsylvania this weekend to compete for the Little League World Series title.
And get a day with big leaguers.
The Pirates and Cubs bring their series finale to Williamsport Sunday at 7:15 p.m. for the third MLB Little League Classic after an afternoon visiting with the players and catching some games.
The Pirates played the Cardinals in the initial Classic in 2017, with the Phillies and Mets tangling last year.
Little League pool begins Thursday at 1 p.m. on ESPN, with Australia taking on the Caribbean. New England faces the Southeast representative at 3 p.m., followed by Latin America against Asia-Pacific at 5 p.m. and the Midwest facing the Great Lakes at 7 p.m. on ESPN2.
It’s Japan battling Europe-Africa on ESPN Friday at 2 p.m. and the West against Southwest at 4 p.m. Mexico meets Canada at 6 p.m. and the Northwest plays the Mid-Atlantic squad at 8 p.m.
First round losers play Saturday, starting with the 1 p.m. game on ESPN. ABC carries the 3 p.m. contest between United States teams, then back to ESPN at 6 and over to ESPN2 at 8 p.m.
First round winners start early Sunday, with games on ESPN at 9 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. ABC offers the 3 p.m. contest before the teams head across town to watch the big leaguers in action.

As American football begins its preseason schedule, English football starts its 2019-2020 this weekend.
The Premier League season kicks off Friday at 3 p.m. on NBC Sports network with Liverpool facing Norwich City.
Manchester City meets West Ham United Saturday at 7:25 a.m. followed by Bournemouth-Sheffield United. NBC brings Tottenham Hotspur’s contest with Aston Villa at 12:30 p.m.
Sunday’s play starts at 8:55 a.m. with Newcastle United against Arsenal. Manchester United clashes with Chelsea at 11:25 a.m.
