Looking for airtime

The San Francisco 49ers’ surprising start has given the NFL a problem – how to get them better national TV coverage.
Originally, Sunday’s game with the Green Bay Packers served as back-up game to main late afternoon matchup on Fox – Patriots against Cowboys. With San Francisco leading the NFC West and Green Bay the NFC North, the NFL’s flex scheduling planners went into action and moved it into the NBC prime time slot.
The Eagles and Seahawks, originally scheduled Sunday night and also a contest of potential playoff teams – got bumped to 1 p.m.
The Texans take on the Colts Thursday at 8:20 p.m. on Fox.
CBS carries the Saints against the Panthers Sunday at 1 p.m., with Lions-Redskins as the early game on Fox.
ESPN closes Week 11 with the Ravens against the Rams Monday at 8:15 p.m.
North of the border, Hamilton and Winnipeg meet for the Grey Cup Sunday at 6:30 p.m on ESPN2.
The college football weekend begins Thursday at 8 p.m. when North Carolina State visits Georgia Tech.
Colorado State clashes with Wyoming Friday at 9:30 p.m.
Virginia has a non-conference tilt with Liberty Saturday on NBC Sports Washington-plus at noon.
Ohio State and Penn State battle for the Big Ten East title at noon on Fox. Wisconsin takes on Purdue at 4 p.m. and Oklahoma tangles with TCU at 8 p.m.
Notre Dame hosts Boston College on NBC Sports network at 2:30 p.m.
Texas A&M tangles with Georgia on CBS at 3:30 p.m.
Minnesota meets Northwestern at noon on ABC, followed by UCLA-USC. In primetime, Oregon faces Arizona State.
ESPN starts its day at noon with Western Carolina-Alabama. Michigan meets Indiana at 3:30 p.m. and top-ranked LSU tangles with Arkansas at 7 p.m. There’s Washington’s contest with Colorado at 10 p.m.
Oklahoma State visits West Virginia on ESPN2 at noon, followed by Virginia Tech-Pittsburgh. Cincinnati clashes with Temple at 7 p.m. and Nevada goes against Fresno State at 10:30 p.m.
It’s Michigan State-Rutgers on FoxSports1 at noon. Baylor battles Texas at 3:30 p.m. and Texas Tech takes on Kansas State at 7 p.m. It’s Utah-Arizona in the nightcap at 10 p.m.
Virginia plays Liberty at 12:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington-plus.
The ACC network has Syracuse against Louisville at 4 p.m. before Duke takes on Wake Forest at 7:30 p.m.
Lafayette faces Lehigh on MASN Saturday at 12:30 p.m. with Kansas against Iowa State on MASN at noon.
TNT offers the Trail Blazers against the Bucks Thursday at 8 p.m., followed by Pelicans-Suns.
The Spurs meet the 76ers on ESPN Friday at 8:15 p.m. with Rockets-Clippers in the nightcap.
The Wizards take on the Hornets Friday at 7 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.
On the college court, ESPN2 has Villanova meeting Middle Tennessee at 11:30 a.m. Florida faces St. Joseph’s at 2 p.m. followed by Ohio-Baylor. The 2K Sports Classic tips at 7 p.m. with Georgetown against Texas before Duke’s contest with California.
Tennessee State tangles with Texas Tech on MASN2 Thursday at 8 p.m.
There’s games from Charleston and Myrtle Beach on ESPN2 Friday at noon and 2:30 p.m. The 2K Sports Classic championship will be at 7:30 p.m. after the third-place game at 5 p.m.
It’s McNeese State against Richmond Friday at 7 p.m. on MASN.
Morehead State meets Butler on FoxSports1 Friday at 7 p.m. and Creighton clashes with Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo at 9 p.m.
Florida Gulf Coast faces VCU Saturday at 7 p.m. on MASN.
ESPN has the Hall of Fame tip-off Sunday at 1 p.m., with the Myrtle Beach Invitational championship at 5 p.m. and Charleston Classic championship at 5 p.m.
It’s Creighton-North Florida on FoxSports1 Sunday at 2 p.m. MASN offers Texas Tech against LIU-Brooklyn Sunday at 2 p.m.
On the women’s court, Connecticut clashes with Ohio State on ESPN Sunday at 3 p.m.
Vancouver visits the Capitals Saturday at 12:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington.
The Flyers face Carolina Thursday at 7:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Washington and it’s Islanders-Sharks Saturday at 10:30 p.m.
West Ham United faces Tottenham Hotspur Saturday at 7:25 a.m. on NBC Sports network followed by Arsenal-Southampton. It’s Manchester City against Chelsea on NBC at 12:30 p.m.
Manchester United meets Sheffield United Sunday at 11:25 a.m.
In the Bundesliga, Dusseldorf battles Bayern Munich Saturday at 9:30 a.m. on FoxSports1. It’s Hertha Berlin against Augsburg Sunday at 9:30 a.m. before Mainz 05 meets Hoffenheim at noon.
